The dealer gave me a different interpretation of AFW than the online description “Value Wagon Package I. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” This is for a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Could both descriptions be valid for different production periods?

That code should be read as a factory configuration identifier, not necessarily a guarantee of a separate dashboard control. Some equipment operates automatically or is bundled with another system.
