Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with 3C7.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

This sounds more like a documentation mismatch than a decoder error. Different databases often shorten the same factory description in different ways.

On these vehicles, similar descriptions can use different codes because of supplier changes or package combinations. The code itself is useful, but the VIN-specific parts catalog is better before ordering anything.

A window sticker is helpful for customer-facing option names, while the build sheet is usually more detailed. If they disagree, the vehicle-specific dealer equipment list can help connect the sales name to 3C7.
