-M6 — Crimson Red. This code identifies the factory seat style, upholstery, or interior trim configuration. Browse Sales Code codes →

I asked the parts department about -M6 on my 2020 Ram 1500, but they could not give a clear answer. The decoder lists “Crimson Red. This code identifies the factory seat style, upholstery, or interior trim configuration” What vehicle details are needed to resolve the meaning correctly?

I would start by checking the original build sheet and then compare the physical equipment on the vehicle. A sales or option code confirms the factory record, but it does not prove that every original component is still installed.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

A clear photo of the build label, VIN report, and the relevant component would help. Do not post the full VIN publicly; the last eight characters are normally enough for a parts-counter discussion.
