A clear photo of the build label, VIN report, and the relevant component would help. Do not post the full VIN publicly; the last eight characters are normally enough for a parts-counter discussion.

A window sticker is helpful for customer-facing option names, while the build sheet is usually more detailed. If they disagree, the vehicle-specific dealer equipment list can help connect the sales name to 2BR.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.

I have seen this on a similar Dodge Journey. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with 2BR.

The safest interpretation is the one tied to the exact VIN, model year, platform, and market. In general, 2BR matches “Customer Preferred Package 2Br. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” but the included hardware can vary between applications.
